What is Rotary?
The Rotary Club is a locally based chapter of Rotary International, the world organization. Rotary International is a non-profit organization that promotes community development, humanitarian aid, and peace worldwide. Rotary Clubs are made up of people from business, industry, professions, and the community who share the goals and values of the organization. Rotary Clubs provide regular meetings for members to strengthen business and personal relationships, as well as for community service and humanitarian work. Rotary Clubs generally support the needs of people in local communities, such as education, health care, and social assistance. In addition, Rotary Clubs support several international programs and initiatives to promote peace and human development. Rotary clubs are found in many countries worldwide and have more than 1.2 million members.
